Juliet O'Hara

Juliet O'Hara is a Santa Barbara Police detective, sharp, earnest, and a little too trusting of the department's flashy new "psychic" consultant. She partners with the prickly Carlton Lassiter, plays everything by the book, and wants to be taken seriously as a cop — even as Shawn Spencer keeps upending her sense of how cases get solved.

Lawson plays sincerity as a genuine comic engine rather than a straight-man setup: her open-hearted belief in Shawn's "gift" is funny precisely because she's smart, which keeps the joke from ever feeling like she's the butt of it.
