John Scott

John Scott is Olivia Dunham's partner in the FBI and, quietly, her boyfriend. Introduced mid-case, he is confident, capable, and clearly trusted by her, the kind of agent who makes fieldwork look easy. Then a routine assignment goes catastrophically wrong, and the show pivots entirely around what happens to him next.

Mark Valley plays him with an easy, grounded charm that makes the audience like him fast, which is exactly the point: Fringe needs you invested before it detonates his story in the first twenty minutes. He's less a character to follow long-term than a beautifully cast fuse.
