Jerry Brudos

Jerry Brudos is one of the incarcerated killers Holden Ford and Bill Tench travel to interview for their nascent FBI research project. Polite, evasive, and oddly fastidious, he deflects questions about his crimes with self-justifying half-truths, treating the interview as a contest he intends to win rather than a confession he owes.

Happy Anderson plays him with a soft-spoken primness that makes the character's evasions land harder than shouting would. The show doesn't sensationalize him; it lets his mundane defensiveness and need for control reveal the calculation underneath, making the scene a quiet duel of wits rather than a monster reveal.
