Hari Seldon

Hari Seldon is the mathematician who claims to have solved the future. Using the science of psychohistory, he predicts the Galactic Empire's collapse and a coming dark age lasting thirty thousand years — unless his plan is followed. He arrives in the story on trial for sedition, calm and unshaken, utterly convinced by his own equations.

Jared Harris gives Seldon the quiet, immovable certainty of a man who has done the math and simply will not be argued out of it — no bluster, just patience with people who haven't caught up yet. The show lets his serenity feel both wise and faintly unsettling, since a man this sure of the future is either a prophet or something worse.
