In 1986 Winden, Hannah is a schoolgirl fixated on Ulrich, the boy who barely notices her. She trails after him, eavesdrops, tells small lies to get closer to what she wants, and reads every slight as a wound. Watchful and a little too perceptive for her age, she rarely gets what she's after directly.

Ella Lee plays longing as something almost feral — Hannah's crush isn't cute, it's a low hum of need that colors every scene she's in. Dark uses her as an early lesson in the show's cruelty: children here are already forming the fixations and grudges that will outlast decades, and Lee makes that inevitability feel personal rather than mechanical.
