Hannah Kahnwald sells real estate in the fog-bound town of Winden and lives in the shadow of a marriage gone quietly wrong. Newly widowed after her husband Michael's death opens the story, she is drawn back toward Ulrich Nielsen, the man she loved as a teenager — needy, insecure, and unable to let go of old wounds.

Maja Schöne plays neediness without asking for pity, letting Hannah's hunger for love curdle into something manipulative and human at once.
