Brandon Bell plays Pritcher with a coiled, watchful intensity, a man whose rigid faith in institutions makes him compelling precisely because you can sense the cracks forming underneath. The writing uses his rationalism as a foil to the show's mysticism, and Bell lets flickers of doubt show through the soldierly composure without ever breaking it outright.
