H.G. Tannhaus 1953

In 1953 Winden, H.G. Tannhaus is the town's watchmaker, a precise and gentle man absorbed in questions most people never think to ask about time itself. He tinkers alone in his workshop, reads deeply into physics and philosophy, and carries a private sorrow that shapes his fascination with the past and what might be recovered from it.

Arnd Klawitter plays him with the quiet, exacting stillness of a craftsman, someone who measures grief the way he measures gears, in small careful increments. Dark surrounds him with paradox and dread, but Tannhaus stays tender and human, a man trying to engineer his way back to something lost, and that longing gives the show's cosmic machinery an aching, personal center.
