Felix Gaeta

Felix Gaeta in Battlestar Galactica (2003), played by Alessandro Juliani.

Gaeta is the fleet's whip-smart communications officer aboard Galactica, the quiet, capable technician who solves problems from the back of the room while officers argue in front of it. He's polite, precise, and easy to overlook — until you notice how often the plan running the ship is one he found.

He works because the show trusts competence to be interesting on its own; Gaeta rarely raises his voice, and Juliani plays him with a careful, watchful stillness that makes his loyalty and his doubts feel equally plausible. He's the ordinary officer the war actually runs on, which is precisely why his choices carry weight.

Junior Lieutenant Felix Gaeta was a skilled and capable officer in the Colonial Fleet. He often served as William Adama's Officer of the Watch aboard Galactica for three years before the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies. Gaeta was studying genetics before the attack and planned to obtain a degree through the military extension program.
