Fazal

Fazal is a young Pakistani man whose family's livelihood rests on the poppy fields under threat from government eradication efforts. Practical and quietly ambitious, he sees the heroin trade not as villainy but as the only door left open to him, and steps through it with open eyes.

Traffik refuses to let Fazal be a symbol of corruption; he's written as someone making a rational choice inside a rigged system, and Jamal Shah plays him with a steady, unshowy clarity that never begs for sympathy or condemnation. That restraint is what makes the character's dilemma land as real rather than illustrative.
