Edward Baldwin

Edward Baldwin is a veteran NASA astronaut and test pilot who thought he'd already lost his shot at the moon — until the Soviets beat America there and reshuffle everything. Gruff, proud, and fiercely loyal to his crew, he wants the landing he was promised, and chafes at anyone who gets between him and the job.

Joel Kinnaman plays Ed as a man built for a straightforward hero's story who keeps getting handed a messier one, and the gap between his self-image and his actual choices is where the show lives. The swagger is real, but so is the stubbornness underneath it, and Kinnaman lets both show without ever tipping into caricature.
