Edie Flowers

Edie Flowers works as an investigator for the U.S. Attorney's office in Virginia, sifting through paperwork and small-town pharmacy records that keep leading somewhere much bigger. She is patient, sharp-eyed, and unimpressed by wealth or title, treating the growing pile of overdose cases as a case to be built, not a tragedy to be mourned from a distance.

Uzo Aduba plays her as the show's moral center without ever turning her into a mouthpiece — she interrogates people (and the audience, via direct address) with a stillness that makes her anger land harder when it finally surfaces. The writing trusts her intelligence completely, letting her outthink powerful men one document at a time rather than one speech.
