Dr. Hunter Aloysius Percy

Introduced through OA's fractured memories, Hunter Aloysius Percy is a scientist consumed by near-death experience research, running a private study that has kept several people captive for years. He presents himself as gentle, curious, even paternal, framing his experiments as a shared search for something profound beyond death — while never quite letting anyone leave.

Jason Isaacs plays him with a soft, reasonable voice that never raises, which makes the character far more disturbing than shouting could. The writing keeps his motives genuinely ambiguous — is he a monster or a true believer? — and Isaacs holds both possibilities in his face at once, so you can't look away even as you recoil.
