Dieter

Dieter surfaces in the German strand of Traffik's sprawling heroin trade, one of the ordinary-seeming men who keep the pipeline moving between manufacture and market. He is practical, unshowy, and careful with his words, a functionary whose calm exterior gives little away about what he actually does for a living.

Prückner plays him without any of the swagger television usually gives to criminals, which is precisely the point of Traffik's design: the drug trade runs on unremarkable men doing unremarkable-looking jobs. That flatness is unsettling in itself, and it's what makes Dieter feel like a real cog rather than a movie villain.
