Detective Paul Falsone

A transfer from another shift, Paul Falsone arrives in the homicide unit as a solid, by-the-book detective trying to find his footing among a squad with its own history and rhythms. He's steady and serious, a family man who takes the job personally, more comfortable with procedure than with the unit's darker humor.

Jon Seda plays him without flash, which is the point: Falsone is the show's answer to what an ordinary decent cop looks like dropped into a room full of burnout and gallows wit. His discomfort with the squad's culture becomes a quiet, sustained tension, and Seda lets his conscience show in small, unshowy ways.
