Detective Mike Kellerman

Mike Kellerman arrives at the Baltimore homicide unit as a transfer from arson, eager and a little too polished for a squad room full of grizzled cynics. Paired with Meldrick Lewis, he wants to prove he belongs, chasing cases with a hungry, almost boyish intensity that hasn't yet been worn down by the job.

Reed Diamond plays ambition without vanity, letting Kellerman's need to be good at this work read as sincere rather than showy. The show uses his newcomer status to expose the unit's unwritten codes, and Diamond's open, unguarded face makes every small compromise visible before Kellerman himself seems to notice it.
