Detective Megan Russert

Megan Russert arrives in the Baltimore homicide unit as one of its few women, a detective determined to earn respect in a squad room built on old habits and older loyalties. She is sharp, controlled, and unwilling to be treated as a token, balancing the job's brutal hours against a life outside it that keeps intruding.

Isabella Hofmann plays her with a watchfulness that never tips into performance — you see her calculating exactly how much toughness a room requires before she supplies it. The show uses her rise through rank to quietly interrogate its own boys'-club atmosphere, and Hofmann keeps Russert human rather than symbolic, weary and exacting in equal measure.
