Detective Bernie Drowatzky

Bernie Drowatzky is local law enforcement caught up in one of the unsolved cases the Behavioral Science Unit comes to investigate. Gruff, practical, and skeptical of academic theorizing, he represents the boots-on-the-ground policing that Holden and Bill's psychological approach has to win over before anyone will actually listen to them.

Jeb Kreager plays him with the flat, unimpressed patience of a cop who has heard federal agents talk before and doesn't expect much. That friction is the point of Mindhunter's procedural texture: real investigations depend on men like Drowatzky, and his skepticism gives the FBI men's theories something solid to push against.
