Captain Benjamin Sisko

Benjamin Sisko arrives at the battered space station Deep Space Nine reluctant and grieving, a widowed father assigned to a posting he never wanted. He's practical, guarded, and unimpressed by Starfleet pieties, more interested in getting Jake settled and the station running than in exploring strange new worlds. Then the wormhole changes everything he thought he understood about his place there.

Avery Brooks plays command as weariness held together by will, giving Sisko a stillness that makes his rare outbursts land like thunder. The writing lets him be a father first, a soldier second, and a reluctant prophet third, refusing the usual captain's certainty. He argues with superiors, doubts his own faith, and stays believable throughout.
