Bacho

Bacho is a coal miner from Tula, hauled into the disaster zone to dig a tunnel beneath the melting reactor. He is blunt, weathered, and unimpressed by rank, negotiating hard with the officials who need him and his men before agreeing to do the impossible job anyway.

Fares Fares plays him without a flicker of awe for the catastrophe around him, just weary professional pride and contempt for bureaucratic nonsense. The show could easily have made the miners symbolic; Bacho stays a specific, prickly, funny man haggling for fans and dignity in hell, which makes his crew's labor land as human rather than heroic.
