Alfonso "French" Sosa

French is a high schooler in a small Michigan town, drawn along with a handful of classmates into the orbit of Prairie Johnson, a young woman who vanished for seven years and has returned with an impossible story. He's watchful and a little guarded, a track runner with responsibilities at home, willing to listen when nobody else will.

Brandon Perea plays French as decency without sentimentality — the show trusts him to be the group's moral center without ever making him a saint, letting quiet scenes of family duty and awkward loyalty do the work. He listens like it costs him something, which is why the audience believes strangers would follow this woman's strange, demanding story.
