Afro & Ninja Ninja

Afro Samurai wanders a brutal, feudal-future landscape seeking the man who killed his father, aiming to reclaim the Number One headband and the invincibility it grants. He's silent, coiled, and lethal, a wall of grief behind mirrored calm. Beside him drifts Ninja Ninja, his sarcastic spirit companion, all mouth where Afro is all restraint.

Samuel L. Jackson voices both halves of one soul, and the split is the joke and the tragedy at once: Afro barely speaks, so Ninja Ninja says everything he won't, cracking wise over pools of blood. That contrast—stoic revenge myth paired with motormouth commentary—gives the show its rhythm and gives Jackson somewhere to be gleefully, characteristically loud.
