Deal or No Deal strips game-show tension down to its purest form: twenty-six sealed briefcases, a menacing offscreen Banker, and the agonising arithmetic of when to walk away. Grant Denyer keeps the studio buzzing and the audience groaning at every unopened case. It's less about winning big than watching ordinary people wrestle, live, with naked risk and their own nerve.
Should you watch it?
Watch it if you enjoy the pure tension of a game built on gut calls, where every briefcase opened tightens the knot and you find yourself yelling at strangers to take the cash or hold on.
Skip it if you want a story with characters you come to know, or you find the constant banker phone calls and briefcase counting more tedious than thrilling after the first few rounds.
What it asks of you: Each half-hour episode is quick and repetitive by design, so it asks for short bursts of attention rather than sustained focus, and it rewards you for shouting at the screen.
