Zoey Barkow

Zoey Barkow arrives at All Saints as the newest nurse on the floor, eager to the point of comedy and desperate to be good at this job. She latches onto Jackie Peyton as a mentor and idol, soaking up every scrap of advice without yet understanding how much her hero is hiding.

Merritt Wever plays sincerity like a live wire, all nervous energy and unguarded enthusiasm, which makes Zoey the show's moral thermometer. Against Jackie's practiced cynicism, her wide-eyed decency is funny and quietly poignant, a reminder of who a nurse might be before the job wears her down.
