Young Mark

Young Mark appears in flashback, a glimpse of someone's life before the present-day story catches up to them. He moves through an earlier, simpler version of events — younger, less guarded, still shaping the choices that will echo forward — without yet carrying the weight the adult characters do.

Andy Favreau's job is delicate: make a brief, early-timeline sketch feel like a real person rather than a plot device, so that when the show cuts back to the present, the resemblance and the distance both land. It's a small part built entirely on suggestion, and it works because he underplays it.
