A hulking, shaggy abominable-snowman type glimpsed among Futurama's parade of oddball aliens and creatures, the Yeti carries all the mythic menace of legend while existing, as ever in this universe, purely for a quick joke rather than any grand plan. He lumbers, he growls, he vanishes into the gag.
Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor capable of booming gravitas, brings just enough theatrical weight to a throwaway monster to make the joke land twice: once for the absurdity of a Yeti turning up at all, and once for how seriously he sounds saying whatever ridiculous line he's given.
The Yetis are a species that live on the planet Neptune and its moon Triton as well as on Earth in the Himalayan mountains located in Asia. They’re large primates who have been hunted in their habitat prior. The Yetis are the outcome of the disease Yetiism, a contagious disease which turns those who fall to it into Yetis.
