Xenotaphian

A minor alien figure glimpsed in the sprawl of background faces that fills out Futurama's universe, the Xenotaphian appears as one of the countless odd, quickly-sketched species the show tosses off in a single scene—present more for flavor than for plot, existing at the margins of whatever human drama is unfolding.

David Herman, already doing heavy lifting elsewhere in the cast, brings the same commitment to even the smallest walk-on parts, and it's that generosity—full voice and personality spent on a character who might get one line—that makes Futurama's background universe feel inhabited rather than sketched in.
