Will Humphries

Will is a young intern drifting through the BBC's communications department, all cut-glass vowels and cheerful incomprehension. He nods along to jargon he plainly doesn't understand, agrees enthusiastically with whatever was just said, and radiates the untroubled confidence of someone who has never once doubted he belongs in the room.

Hugh Skinner turns vacancy into music, stretching 'totally' and 'brilliant' into little arias of agreeable nothing. The joke isn't that Will is stupid so much as that the institution rewards his particular blankness, and Skinner plays that gap between confidence and comprehension with such sunny sincerity that he becomes the show's gentlest, funniest indictment of office life.
