Character

Wendy Kurtz

Wendy Kurtz in Schitt's Creek (2015), played by Robin Duke.

Wendy Kurtz turns up in Schitt's Creek as a blunt, unbothered local with history at the Café Tropical, the kind of small-town fixture who says exactly what she thinks and couldn't care less how the Roses feel about it. She wants things done her way, plainly and without apology.

Robin Duke plays her with a flat, unimpressed delivery that cuts through the show's more mannered comic rhythms — she doesn't perform for the Roses, she just exists near them, which makes her a perfect blunt instrument against Moira and David's theatrics. A small role, but it lands every time.

Wendy Kurtz is a polite, slightly quirky clothier who hires David Rose for his fashion sense at her clothing store, the Blouse Barn, an "upscale, high-end boutique" located in Elmdale. She was a recurring character on the second season of Schitt's Creek.
