Warren H. (Skip) Muck

Skip Muck is one of Easy Company's mortarmen, a paratrooper whose easy warmth makes him a favorite among the men before Normandy. Quick with a joke, steady under Sobel's harassment during training, he's the kind of soldier who keeps morale afloat through sheer likability, tight especially with his foxhole buddy Malarkey.

Richard Speight Jr. gives Muck a sunny, unforced charm that makes the ensemble feel like real friends rather than a roster of names. The writing uses him sparingly but precisely—a grin here, a wisecrack there—so that his warmth becomes load-bearing for the whole company's sense of camaraderie, making him deeply missed the moment he's offscreen.
