Walter

Walter is Betty's boyfriend back home in Queens, a steady, unglamorous presence far removed from the glossy chaos of Mode. He's affectionate, a little awkward, and devoted to Betty in a way that feels comfortable rather than exciting — the ordinary life she's stepping away from as her career pulls her elsewhere.

Kevin Sussman plays Walter with an easy, guileless warmth that makes him funny without turning him into a joke. He's useful precisely because he's so normal: next to Mode's vanity and ambition, his sincerity throws Betty's new world into sharp, comic relief, and Sussman never oversells the contrast.
