He appears table-side at one of the restaurants Steve and Rob visit on their tour, presenting dishes with the brisk professional warmth of someone used to serving discerning, distracted diners. He has little interest in their bickering or impressions — his job is the food, and he does it efficiently, then moves on.

The Trip thrives on its stars' improvised sparring, and small roles like this one work as ballast — a real, unfussy presence against which Coogan and Brydon's competitive riffing looks even more absurd. Alprea plays it straight, letting the comedy happen around him rather than reaching for it himself.
