Vomit Advertisement

Vomit Advertisement is exactly what the name promises: a piece of futuristic advertising so aggressive and grotesque it makes the audience gag, part of Futurama's running joke about a world where marketing has grown feral and shameless. It exists to sell something, however revolting the method, and it does not apologize for the tactic.

The joke lands because nobody plays it up for a wink — Billy West commits to the bit with the same straight-faced conviction he gives every other one-line background gag, which is the whole comic engine of Futurama's world-building. It's a throwaway that captures the show's satire of advertising in a single grim sight gag.
