Villanelle

Villanelle is a professional assassin with a taste for luxury and theatre, killing for a shadowy organization while treating the work as an extension of her own vanity and appetite. She moves through Europe under aliases, charming and cold-blooded by turns, delighting in disguise, fine clothes, and the game of being watched.

Comer builds her from contradictions: a stone-cold killer who giggles at jokes, sulks like a child, and slips accents on and off like coats. The writing refuses to explain her away with trauma or ideology, so she stays gloriously unpredictable — funny, monstrous, and magnetic in the same breath.
