Vash the Stampede

A gangly, goofy outlaw with a bounty of $$60 billion on his head, Vash bumbles across a desert planet in a red coat and goggles, mugging for donuts and fleeing angry mobs. He plays the fool constantly—crying, flailing, begging for peace—while somehow leaving wrecked towns and dead pursuers in his wake.

The joke is the point: Onosaka plays him as pure slapstick, all yelps and exaggerated tears, so the sudden stillness when Vash actually draws his gun lands like a slammed door. That gap between clown and gunslinger is the whole character, and the show trusts you to feel the difference before it ever explains it.
