Mom runs Mom's Friendly Robot Company, the planet's dominant robotics manufacturer, and greets the world with the beaming, aproned warmth of a 1950s television spokeswoman. Underneath the pie-baking sweetness sits a shrewd, ruthless industrialist who controls the robot economy, bullies her adult sons, and smiles the entire time she does it.

The joke is the gap between presentation and person: Tress MacNeille plays the sunny homemaker voice completely straight, never winking at the audience, which makes the sudden pivots into cold cruelty and monopolist scheming land harder. She's a satire of corporate PR built entirely out of tone, and MacNeille's control of that tone is what sells it.“
