The Voice belongs to no one in particular — a booming, unseen narrator who pops up whenever the show needs to sell a fake movie, wrestling match, or infomercial. He never appears on screen, only in that instantly recognizable trailer-announcer register, promising doom, romance, or hot bot-on-bot action with total conviction.

Maurice LaMarche's dead-on Don LaFontaine impression turns a background gag into one of the show's most reliable laughs. The joke works because the delivery never winks: total sincerity applied to the most ridiculous premises, which is funnier the straighter it's played, and LaMarche never once breaks that gravelly, world-ending gravity.
