Trip Richardson

Trip is the Richardsons' golden middle son — handsome, easy, a little lazy about anything that isn't sports or girls. He drifts through Shaker Heights on charm and comfort, barely aware of his own privilege, until Pearl Warren starts coming around the house and he finds himself paying closer attention than usual.

The show could easily let Trip be just the cute jock, but it uses him to show how unexamined ease curdles into carelessness. Jordan Elsass plays him with a loose, sunny confidence that makes his blind spots feel almost innocent — which is precisely what makes them worth watching closely.
