Treguard

Treguard is Dungeonmaster of the eponymous castle, presiding over Knightmare's stone chamber with ceremonial gravity. Each episode he welcomes a new team of children and sends one of them, helmeted and half-blind, into the dungeon beyond, while he narrates the stakes and occasionally intervenes with warnings, riddles, or dry asides about their chances of survival.

Hugo Myatt plays him utterly straight — no wink to camera, no acknowledgment that this is a children's show taped in a converted studio. That commitment is the joke and the magic at once: his booming solemnity turns cardboard peril into real tension, and his exasperated patience with fumbling young dungeoneers gives the whole format its warmth.
