Traffic Narrator

A disembodied, portentous voice that materializes whenever New New York's flying-car traffic needs describing, narrating routine gridlock as though it were a nature documentary or a disaster newsreel. He never appears in person, has no stake in the plot, and exists purely to announce the obvious with theatrical gravity.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: Maurice LaMarche deploys his booming, movie-trailer baritone on material as trivial as commuter congestion, and the incongruity lands every time. It's a tiny, disposable bit, but the show's willingness to cutaway for a fully committed fake-narrator voice is exactly the kind of background gag that rewards rewatching.
