Tracey Gordon is twenty-four, deeply horny, and still living under her devout mother's roof on a South London estate, engaged to a man who won't touch her. She narrates her own life straight to camera, breathless and overexplaining, determined to have sex, get a boyfriend, and understand desire despite a religious upbringing that gave her no vocabulary for any of it.

Coel writes and plays her as pure, uncool appetite — no filter, no cool-girl irony, just a young woman blurting out exactly what she wants and getting it catastrophically wrong. The physical comedy is fearless and the voice is so specific and unashamed that Tracey's naivety becomes weirdly moving rather than pathetic.
