Tonya Rock

Tonya is Chris's younger sister, sharing a cramped Bed-Stuy apartment with her brothers and parents. She's quick with a comeback, quicker to tattle, and treats sibling squabbles like blood sport. Still a kid finding her footing in a house ruled by tight money and tighter rules, she wants attention and gets it by being loud, petty, and fiercely funny.

The show could have made her a background sibling, but Hakim plays Tonya with comic precision — her whining has rhythm, her insults land like a seasoned performer's. She's a believable little sister: petty over nothing, devastating when it counts, and never just a punchline machine for Chris's narration to bounce off of.
