Tony Soprano

Tony Soprano is a New Jersey mob boss and family man, quite literally, juggling a crumbling household with a criminal empire he's just inherited. He's having panic attacks he can't explain, so he starts seeing a psychiatrist, an act that horrifies his associates and confuses even him.

Gandolfini finds the tenderness inside a man built for menace, letting Tony be genuinely wounded, funny, and terrifying within the same scene, sometimes the same breath. The therapy premise cracks him open in a way mob stories rarely allow, and Gandolfini never lets you settle on a single verdict about him.
