Tom Stagg

DS Tom Stagg is a detective sergeant on the Belfast murder squad assigned to assist Stella Gibson's investigation into a string of killings. Married with a young family, he is capable and well-regarded, a steady professional presence who takes his work seriously and seems, at first glance, entirely dependable.

Jonjo O'Neill plays Stagg with a careful, contained decency that makes him easy to trust, which is precisely the point. The performance holds back just enough that his competence never quite explains everything about him, and that quiet gap between surface and interior is what keeps you watching him closely.
