Tom Purcell

Tom Purcell is a father in rural Arkansas whose two children vanish one evening in 1980, an event that unravels everything around him. He drinks, he grieves, he snaps at the detectives trying to help, and his marriage frays visibly under the strain. He wants his kids found and cannot say much else.

Scoot McNairy plays Tom as a man coming apart in real time rather than in dignified stages — irritable, guilty, prone to sudden flashes of anger that curdle into shame. The writing refuses to make him a saint or a suspect cleanly; he's just a father failing to hold himself together, and McNairy makes that failure painfully legible.
