Todd Chavez

Todd Chavez lives on BoJack's couch, seemingly by accident and certainly without a lease. He has no job, no plan, and an endless supply of enthusiasm for whatever half-baked scheme has just occurred to him — rock operas, ghostwriting gigs, elaborate cons — usually launched with more excitement than sense.

Aaron Paul plays him with a puppyish sincerity that makes his nonsense schemes genuinely funny rather than grating, a jolt of pure goofball energy dropped into a show otherwise preoccupied with self-loathing. Todd's storylines veer into cartoon absurdity precisely because the rest of the show can't, and that contrast is part of what makes him essential.
