Timothy Clevinger

Clevinger is a bright, Harvard-educated navigator in Yossarian's squadron, full of earnest patriotism and faith in rules, hierarchy, and fair play. He argues logic and principle even when the war around him refuses to make sense, certain that decency and correct thinking will eventually be rewarded.

He's the group's true believer, and the show uses his sincerity as a pressure test for the absurdity everyone else has learned to shrug off. Pico Alexander plays him with an unguarded, almost boyish conviction, so his collisions with military nonsense land as small tragedies of a good student meeting a world with no correct answer.
