Tim Riggins

Tim Riggins is Dillon's star running back, a boy with more talent than direction. He drinks too much, drifts through school, and lives half-abandoned by the adults who should be raising him. Loyal to his brother and his best friend Jason Street to a fault, he seems easygoing on the surface, but there's a sadness underneath he doesn't examine too closely.

Taylor Kitsch plays Riggins with a stillness that suggests more feeling than the character can articulate himself, and the writing never rushes to explain him. He's the small-town golden boy who suspects he isn't going anywhere, and that quiet dread, buried under beer and bravado, is what makes him linger in memory.
