Tim Ifield

Tim Ifield is a Detective Inspector working child sexual exploitation cases, a careful, procedure-obsessed officer who trusts paperwork more than people. He keeps his own counsel, works late, and grows increasingly uneasy about the conduct of a colleague he's meant to be supervising. Precise, anxious, and quietly stubborn about doing things properly.

Jason Watkins plays him as a man built entirely out of small, correct habits, which makes his mounting unease genuinely unsettling rather than paranoid. The writing lets his pedantry be both his defining flaw and his one real virtue, and Watkins never lets you settle on which it is until it's too late to look away.
