Theodora "Theo" Crain

Theo Crain is a child psychologist who never takes off her gloves, and never lets anyone get too close either. Sharp-tongued and guarded, she reads people's pain through touch and keeps her own buried under sarcasm, leather, and a carefully maintained distance from her family.

Kate Siegel plays armor better than almost anyone on television — every deflecting joke and clipped answer sits over something raw she won't name. The gloves are a clever, literal device for a character built entirely around not letting anything in, and Siegel makes that restraint feel like its own kind of ache.
